ROAD BLINKERS
Blinking lights on roads serve as visual alerts for various conditions, with flashing red lights requiring a complete stop, similar to a stop sign, to indicate hazards or emergencies. Flashing yellow or amber lights serve as a caution, signaling the need for reduced speed and careful navigation through a potential hazard, construction zone, or intersection. Embedded road studs use flashing LED lights to mark lanes, curves, and crosswalks, enhancing visibility for drivers at night or in poor weather.Road reflectors, also known as cats’ eyes or road studs, work by reflecting light back to its source through a process called retroreflection. This is achieved using materials with internal structures, such as tiny glass beads or prismatic (triangular) elements. When vehicle headlights strike these reflectors, the light is bounced directly back at the driver, dramatically improving visibility in low-light conditions and helping drivers see road edges, lanes, and obstacles.
